Orthodontics

Nothing is more important as a genuine heartfelt smile. Whether in your professional life or when socialising, an attractive smile can make you feel happier and more confident, as well as make the right impression!

Orthodontics is a dental speciality concerned with the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of facial irregularities such as crooked, crowded or protruding teeth.

Orthodontic treatment is specifically designed and planned with your needs in mind by our Specialist Orthodontist or braces expert, and therefore if you’ve ever thought about improving your smile, no matter what age, orthodontics may be for you!

Your orthodontic assessment

During your initial consultation, we will take time to listen to your concerns and understand what you hope to achieve from any orthodontic treatment. We will carry out a thorough examination of your teeth, jaws and face. This is usually followed by photographs, radiographs (x-ray) and impressions (moulds) of your teeth.

Your orthodontic needs are unique and these records help us to diagnose any underlying problems and formulate a comprehensive treatment plan.

In some cases, we may need to invite you for a second appointment so that we can consider the records that have been taken and decide upon a treatment plan. You will then have the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have and discuss the various payment options.

We ask that you set aside approximately one hour for this initial visit, as we believe that it is important for you to have a clear understanding of all aspects of your proposed treatment.

Second appointment

Once all the diagnostic information has been taken, the treatment plan has been agreed, we will then be ready to place the braces.

Before a brace is fitted, we will ask you to see our hygienist for professional cleaning of your teeth and gums.

A fixed brace consists of several brackets (which will either be metal or ceramic, which are gently bonded to the teeth). The brackets are connected by a thin piece of wire called archwire.  Fixed braces are normally fitted at one appointment.

It is also sometimes possible to have the brackets placed on the inner side of the teeth (lingual). These are virtually invisible.

At Sparkle Dental Boutique we offer orthodontic procedures for clients within the London area and also those searching for advanced brace treatments in Hounslow, Brentford and other local areas within West London. If you live nearby please feel free to come in for a consultation and discuss the best orthodontic options for you.
