Patients Near Hounslow Can Smile Like Royalty On The Queen’s Birthday

April 11th, 2013

Food and drinks in general, can really leave their mark on our teeth, especially sugary drinks and foods. If you would like to wipe away the stains of one too many cream teas, then perhaps we could all indulge on a little tooth whitening for her majesty’s birthday. That way, should we ever take tea with the Queen, we can at least talk and smile confidently, leaving us free to panic about etiquette alone.

In house whitening

The Zoom2! Chairside Whitening system is a very popular, very safe and very effective tooth whitening procedure. During treatment, a special gel is applied to your teeth; this is then activated by a special light. The procedure is quick and, following treatment, teeth tend to become at least 6 to 10 shades lighter than they previously were. The procedure will also be carried out in our dedicated teeth whitening room where you are free to listen to the music of your choice! Treatment is rounded off with a five minute fluoride treatment, following which you will be quite amazed.

Home whitening

Comfortable as your teeth whitening room is, perhaps you would prefer the comfort of your own home? Thankfully, this too is an option with our custom fit tray system. Special trays are produced which fit your teeth. These are then worn, with a special gel, for one hour a day. Over the course of 10 to 14 days, your smile should gradually whiten to a dazzling shine!

Combination method

We offer two great whitening methods, so why not combine them? Use our in house whitening to produce wondrous, instantaneous results, and then use our home whitening system to round off your teeth with an almost angelic gleam.

Dental Implants To Replace Missing Teeth For Patients Near Hounslow

March 11th, 2013

Some adults can lose multiple teeth for reasons ranging from teeth decay to injury. If this happens dental implants are often the best solution for replacing them. Implants are a permanent solution to tooth loss, helping to restore self-confidence by allowing patients to eat, speak and smile as normal. They feel and look completely natural and can be used in cases ranging from one missing tooth to a full mouth. They can also be used to secure dentures.

Structure

There are three parts to a full implant restoration. The first is the implant itself, which consists of a tiny titanium post and replaces what would be the structure of the roots in a normal tooth. It is fitted in the jaw. The second component is the abutment, which is an attachment connecting the crown to the implant. It has the implant fitted to its lower side and the crown fitted to the upper section, and will be invisible once these parts have been fixed. The third and final part, the crown, is the replacement tooth.

Procedure

Several appointments will be required during the course of treatment. The first visit will consist of the dentist assessing your mouth by means of X-rays. The implant’s position will then be determined. During the actual fitting, local anaesthesia will be used before the preparation of the soft tissues. The implant will then be fitted into a tiny hole in the jaw bone that is drilled by the dentist. Once bone has formed around this area, a process called osseointegration which lasts between 2-6 months in most cases, a bridge or crown will be fitted. If you would like more information about dental implant options at Sparkle Dental Boutique near Hounslow please contact us to arrange a consultation.

January 29th, 2013

Orthodontic treatment is very popular; unfortunately, most of us don’t have perfectly straight teeth but luckily there is a huge range of treatments on offer to straighten the teeth and create beautiful, natural smiles.

Fixed braces

Fixed braces have been around for decades and they are still very popular; fixed metal braces are the most common orthodontic treatment because they are widely available and they can be used to treat complex orthodontic prescriptions. Most people think of metal train-tracks when they hear the words ‘fixed braces’, but there are actually a few different types of fixed braces on the market and ceramic braces are becoming very popular.

Ceramic braces

Ceramic braces, also known as clear or cosmetic braces, work in a similar way to metal braces, but they are made from ceramic materials, which means that they are almost invisible. Ceramic braces are an ideal treatment for people who need to intensity of fixed brace treatment but don’t want to wear unattractive metal braces; ceramic braces are tooth-coloured, which makes them very discreet and the brackets are often smaller and finer than traditional fixed braces.

Ceramic braces at Sparkle Dental Boutique near Hounslow are versatile and they can be used to treat a range of orthodontic issues, from crooked and twisted teeth to misaligned teeth, spaces between the teeth and crowded teeth. Braces are a very effective treatment and they could completely transform the look of your smile, as well as boosting your confidence and helping you to feel great when you smile.

Ceramic braces are getting smaller and smaller and they really are a great idea for image conscious patients who want the best of both the fields of cosmetic dentistry and orthodontics.

Porcelain Veneers Provide A Real Smile Makeover For The New Year For Patients Near Hounslow

January 10th, 2013

It’s a cliché to say New Year, new you, but this really could be the case if you choose to have porcelain veneers. If you’ve longed for a gorgeous smile all year and you get a touch of the green- eyed monster when you see glossy photos of celebrities showing off their flawless, dazzling smiles, now is the perfect time to treat yourself to an A-list smile.

About porcelain veneers

Porcelain veneers are a very popular treatment; they are commonly associated with celebrities and have been showcased on numerous television shows, such as Extreme Makeover and 10 Years Younger.

Porcelain veneers are applied over the top of the natural teeth to produce an amazing, flawless smile. The veneers are designed to look exactly like natural teeth and we encourage our clients to get involved in the smile design process, so that we can make sure that the end result is perfect.

Porcelain veneers are designed to create beautiful smiles; they can be used to address many common cosmetic flaws, including chipped and worn teeth, uneven teeth, spaces between the teeth, a gummy smile and stained or discoloured teeth, and they can literally transform your smile.

The procedure

Before porcelain veneers can be applied onto the teeth, the teeth must first be prepared; this involves removing a very tiny layer of the surface enamel to make space for the new veneers. We are careful to conserve as much of the natural tooth structure as possible. Once the teeth have been prepared, impressions of the teeth are created and used as templates for the new veneers. Once the veneers have been custom-made, we can fit them; the veneers are fixed to the teeth using dental adhesive once you are happy with the look of your new smile.

With New Year just around the corner, why not give yourself something to smile about and get a brand new, beautiful smile? Contact the team at Sparkle Dental Boutique near Hounslow for more information.

Single Dental Implant Treatment For Patients Near Hounslow

December 31st, 2012

There are many ways a tooth can be lost, from playing sport to having an accident, or for some people there may be a tooth which has just not developed naturally. For many people, a dental implant is a common solution. There are occasions when younger people lose a tooth and want a long-term effective solution to treat the missing tooth without compromising their mouth aesthetics and tooth durability.

Dental implants

The benefits of implants are that they are extremely hard-wearing and can possibly last for the rest of the patient’s life if looked after correctly. The implants, which are made of titanium, help to keep the jawbone strong and undamaged by fitting with it and replacing the original roots of the tooth. The bone accepts the implant and fuses with it. The loss of a tooth can result in the jawbone starting to disintegrate meaning that the shape of the face can lose its structure and become saggy. Dental implants are able to stimulate bone growth and stop changes to the face and jaw through loss of teeth.

A natural look

A dental crown can be attached to the implant after it has been inserted into the root so that it blends with the rest of your teeth for a natural look and feel. It can even be fitted along with a tooth extraction under certain circumstances. Losing a tooth is not the end of the world and there are a number of treatments available to deal with this. If you would like more information on dental implants or more generally missing teeth treatment then please contact the team at Sparkle Dental Boutique near Hounslow.

Removable, Discreet “Invisible” Braces For Patients Near Hounslow

December 10th, 2012

Getting a brace as an adult can be a rather daunting prospect. Many people put up with crooked teeth for their entire lives, rather than facing the horrors of being the only person in the office with “train tracks”. Thankfully, braces have come a long way in recent years, and there is now a variety of less embarrassing options available.  At the Sparkle Dental Boutique near Hounslow, we offer the Invisalign® treatment – with these, nobody needs to know you’re wearing braces.

Invisible braces

The Invisalign® braces don’t consist of metal wires, but are instead transparent aligners, much like a mouthguard made out of very thin, and clear, plastic. The aligners gently push your teeth into their optimum positions. Rather than the pain and discomfort of having metal braces periodically tightened, you are given a series of aligners, each one replaced every two weeks or so as your teeth move into position. Furthermore, these aligners can be removed at any time for cleaning and eating, so you can carry on living your life as normal.

State of the art technology

Invisalign® is such a successful method because it uses 3D computer-imaging to design the aligners. A three dimensional model of your mouth is made and then adjusted to produce a model of how your teeth will look after the treatment. This technology shows the “before” and “after” picture, and also tells our dentists how to get from the former to the latter. The aligners are then designed to follow these steps, gradually correcting your teeth.

The Invisalign® braces are a quick, easy and subtle approach to orthodontics – an ideal choice for anybody considering braces in adulthood. Book an appointment now and you could have perfectly straight teeth in as little as three months, and certainly no longer than eighteen months. And with our flexible plans for payment, the cost can be spread out to suit your circumstances.

Children Learn All About Oral Health Near Hounslow

November 8th, 2012

This is the month of Children in Need with the BBC televised appeal show scheduled for 16th November. This amazing charity gives year-round support to children suffering from poverty, disabilities and abuse. Children in Need is a poignant reminder of how precious children are. One of the ways children can live a healthy life is by maintaining a sound oral hygiene.

Starting young

At only six months old, usually before any teeth have come through, getting a baby used to the idea of cleaning teeth as part of the bathing routine is an excellent way to get started. By brushing the baby’s gums with a soft toothbrush, possibly letting them try when supervised, oral hygiene should hopefully feel like second nature to the baby as they become a small child.

Things to remember

It is essential that the toothpaste contains fluoride and children’s toothpaste is available. Brushing should last for 2 minutes, twice a day and should be supervised until a child is seven or eight years old. Use a mirror so the child can see where they are brushing and help guide them with your hand to make sure they are brushing correctly. Try and make brushing teeth fun but obviously don’t let the child walk or run with a toothbrush in their mouth.

Being proactive

Ideally, children should start going to the dentist from the age of two. On the emotional side, the child will have a chance to get to know the dentist and their surroundings. On the health side, the dentist will help you focus on any areas that can be improved within the current dental hygiene and find any problems early, reducing or possibly eliminating the need treatment. For more information on children’s dentistry please contact the team at Sparkle Dental Boutique near Hounslow.

Patients Near Hounslow Celebrate The First Day Of Autumn With Discreet Braces

October 8th, 2012

A New Season, a New Smile

This autumn, why not take control of dental imperfections with the discreet Simpli5 aligners? Call it a mid-year resolution. Simpli5 is a revolutionary alternative to other conventional orthodontic treatments that Sparkle Dental Boutique near Hounslow is pleased to offer patients with minor imperfections in the structure of their teeth, or slight problems with their bite.

The Advantages of Simpli5

There are a number of advantages to opting for Simpli5 over other treatments. What makes them so popular is their discretion; the aligners are near-invisible and very hard to notice, so nobody but you and the dentist need know you’re wearing them! They are also removable so you are free to remove them when brushing your teeth, eating a meal, or attending any social event that you may feel uncomfortable wearing braces at. There is minimum discomfort at a minimum price making these aligners a very popular option.

The Process

If you feel that Simpli5 aligners could be for you, then consult our team at Sparkle Dental Boutique this autumn! The process is very simple and will last no more than just twenty weeks. Here’s how it works:

  • First of all, we will make a mould of your teeth that can then be used to create a realistic 3D model, which can then be used to craft the first aligner, specifically designed for your teeth.
  • The first aligner is worn for up to four weeks depending on the severity of the misalignment. During this time, the aligner will slowly and discreetly adjust the position of the teeth by around half a millimetre.
  • A new mould is then created with the new alignment of the teeth, and a new aligner is then worn for another four weeks. This process is repeated up to five times to correct the imperfections, giving you something to smile about through winter!
