Broken teeth: if you break or crack a tooth, you will need an X-ray to determine the extent of the damage; it may be possible to repair the tooth with a filling or a crown.

Toothache: toothache can be very painful and in some cases, urgent treatment may be required. Abscesses are a common cause of severe toothache.

What should I do in the event of an injury?

If you experience severe tooth pain, you crack a tooth or you lose a tooth, see your dentist as quickly as possible. If you fear that you may have fractured your jaw, visit your local Accident and Emergency department; your jaw will be X-rayed to check whether or not it is broken. If you chip your tooth, you will not need emergency treatment but you should arrange an appointment with your dentist.
