Restorative Smile

Already a finalist in previous years under the category of Restorative Smile, Sunita Verma Principal of Sparkle Dental Boutique has won best Restorative Smile 2011.

Under this category Sunita was required to showcase her work using indirect restorative treatments, in this case a combination of porcelain veneers and a bridge to create the perfect smile.

Sunita says “My patient’s main concerns were her unattractive smile due to the poor aesthetics of her current bridge and the gap between her upper two front teeth. Her ultimate wish was to have a broader, natural, even smile with no gaps and requested that her teeth be slightly longer.”

Sunita goes on to say “The success of this case was largely due to the consideration of the whole smile rather than just the primary problems, I was able to provide her with a beautiful smile using porcelain veneers and bridges and she was delighted with the results.”

Patient's Smile

The Smile Awards are the only dental awards in the UK to reward clinical excellence in dental and facial aesthetics.

Dr Sunita Verma won a Smile Award under the category of Best Patient Smile.

Under this category, a patient is able to nominate their dentist who they feel has made a big difference to their life through the improvements that have been made to the patients smile.

One of our lovely patients, Surinder, nominated Sunita under this category, for making the biggest difference to his life.

"Having undergone this amount of work, I realise that the skills needed to transform my ugly duckling teeth into a beautiful smile can only be done by a dentist that has a lot of knowledge, patience, artistic flair and steady hands and I'm so lucky to have found such a dentist, who in addition would always be smiling and would even hum some of the tunes playing in the background while drilling my teeth!"

Sunita Verma has been selected as a finalist under the category of Restorative Smile at the Smile Awards 2010.

This category recognises excellence in dentistry through the use of restorative treatments to create the perfect smile.

Sunita says "This case was particularly challenging, as the gap between the upper teeth was extremely large, bordering on the edge of being untreatable with porcelain veneers."

The patient says "The finished product? Well my pictures and attention from admirers, friends and colleagues speaks volumes. People stop me all the time now and tell me what a wonderful smile I have. I smile inside and out and but never let on about the work I have had. I can honestly say that because I smile more, my whole life is more harmonious".

Aesthetic Restorative Technician

The Smile Awards are the only dental awards in the UK to reward clinical excellence in dental and facial aesthetics.

Dr Sunita Verma's lab technician, Gary Young from Sherring Lucas Laboratory won a Smile Award for Best Restorative Technician for the exquisite porcelain work he produced for one of Sunita's patients.

Sunita says "A dentist is often only as good as the lab technician's skills that allow the dentist to create that perfect smile. For my cosmetic cases, Gary and I work very closely together to plan and produce the perfect smile for each patient.

The winning entry was a very challenging case, as my patient had a particularly wide diastema or gap between her upper teeth, which was at the very edge of what is clinically possible to restore.

Creating a new smile is a highly technical process requiring great skill and experience to achieve a natural looking beautiful smile. It takes artistic ability and extensive knowledge to create the smile that patient's desire. I am so proud to have Gary as part of my team."

Conservative Smile

The Smile Awards are the only dental awards in the UK to reward clinical excellence in dental and facial aesthetics.

Sometimes, less is more. Dr Sunita Verma, Principal of Sparkle Dental Boutique was selected as a finalist for the category of Conservative Smile, emphasising minimal intervention in the creation of a beautiful smile by means of teeth whitening and direct composite resin bonding.
